Getting to the Durham Main Campus
Enter campus via its primary entrance from the west on NH Route 155A rather than driving through downtown Durham. This route is reflected in regional highway signage and will align you with campus wayfinding signage for parking options as well as a variety of campus landmarks.

Directions to UNH by Car
Driving Time: ~90 minutes
- Follow I-95 North to Exit 4 in N.H. (N.H. Lakes and Mountains/Spaulding Turnpike).
- Exit 4 off 95 North is a left-hand exit. Continue North on the Spaulding Turnpike over Little Bay Bridge to Exit 6. Use left lanes of exit ramp to turn left at signal onto US 4 West.
- Follow US 4 West approximately 6 miles to NH 155A exit.
- At bottom of exit ramp turn left onto NH 155A (Main Street)
- Follow NH 155A (Main Street) past a short stretch of fields to the UNH campus. Follow campus wayfinding signage to your destination and/or visitor parking. Main Street continues straight through (second leg) of roundabout bringing you to the center of campus, Campus Crossing, and downtown Durham.
Driving Time: ~60 minutes
- Follow I-95 South to Exit 5 in N.H. (Spaulding Turnpike).
- Continue North on the Spaulding Turnpike over Little Bay Bridge to Exit 6. Use left lanes of exit ramp to turn left at signal onto US 4 West.
- Follow US 4 West approximately 6 miles to NH 155A exit.
- At bottom of exit ramp turn left onto NH 155A (Main Street)
- Follow NH 155A (Main Street) past a short stretch of fields to the UNH campus. Follow campus wayfinding signage to your destination and/or visitor parking. Main Street continues straight through (second leg) of roundabout bringing you to the center of campus, Campus Crossing, and downtown Durham.

- Take US 4 East to the NH 155A exit (the first Durham exit) and then turn right towards Durham.
- Follow NH 155A (Main Street) past a short stretch of fields to the UNH campus. Follow campus wayfinding signage to your destination and/or visitor parking. Main Street continues straight through (second leg) of roundabout bringing you to the center of campus, Campus Crossing, and downtown Durham.
Driving Time: ~45 minutes
- Take NH 101 East to Exit 7 (Epping/Route 125).
- Continue north on NH 125 to the Lee traffic circle.
- Drive east on US 4 to the NH 155A exit (the first Durham exit) then turn right toward Durham.
- Follow NH 155A (Main Street) past a short stretch of fields to the UNH campus. Follow campus wayfinding signage to your destination and/or visitor parking. Main Street continues straight through (second leg) of roundabout bringing you to the center of campus, Campus Crossing, and downtown Durham.

- Take NH 107 South to US 4 East
- Take US 4 East to the NH 155A exit (the first Durham exit) and then turn right toward Durham.
- Follow NH 155A (Main Street) past a short stretch of fields to the UNH campus. Follow campus wayfinding signage to your destination and/or visitor parking. Main Street continues straight through (second leg) of roundabout bringing you to the center of campus, Campus Crossing, and downtown Durham.
Directions by Train
The Amtrak Downeaster offers five daily roundtrips between Boston's North Station, Portland, Freeport and Brunswick Maine. The train stops at the Durham-UNH Train Station/Dairy Bar directly in the center of campus.
Directions by Plane
Four commercial airports serve Durham and the surrounding area:
- Boston Logan Airport (BOS) -- Amtrak Downeaster and C&J (90 min)
- Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) -- car or limo service (45 min)
- Portland International Jetport (PWM) -- connected by Amtrak Downeaster or car (90 min)
- Portsmouth International Airport at Pease (PSM) -- connected by car or Wildcat Transit/Pease Trolley (30 min)
Directions by Bus
C&J Bus Lines offers service from Boston South Station, Logan Airport and NYC to two regional park and rides each approximately 10 miles from campus:
- Pease-Portsmouth Transportation Center (185 Grafton Road) (connect to campus via COAST Pease-Portsmouth Trolley – then Wildcat Transit Route 4 connection)
- Dover (Exit 9 Spaulding Turnpike – 23 Indian Brook Drive)
Greyhound - Greyhound offers scheduled service between downtown Boston (South Station) and downtown Portsmouth (Market Square). Connect to Durham from Market Square using Wildcat Transit Route 4.
